Androniki and Michalis bring the Aegina pistachio to our table
Androniki grew up and spend her childhood summers with Aegina, an island that means a lot to her. Since she was little, she visited the homeland of her mother, grandmother and grandfather, where they all spent their time together with care and love for the nature and traditions of the island.
Her memories of her days at the peanuts trees are vivid, full of respect for the land and the cultivation of this special fruit.
The first days of every September, Androniki participated in the peanut harvesting ritual. This process had its own magic, as part of the harvest was kept for the winter, to be enjoyed throughout the rest of the year. The rest was sold to the local cooperative, a move that not only provided income, but kept alive the tradition of the island and the solidarity between the producers.
Androniki's love for Aegina and its products did not stop there. Growing up, she passed this devotion on to her family. One of her sons, Michalis, shares the same passion for their place and together they decide to take the next step: to establish a small business, dedicated to the promotion of the local products of Aegina.
Focusing on the Aegina pistachios, Androniki and Michalis are preparing a collection of quality local products. The peanut, in roasted or raw form, is their main product, but they also create delicious treats such as pistachio cigars, pistachio spreads, pistachio pralines, pistachio nutritious bars. They don't stop there though - they are going to create products from Aegina pistachios bringing flavors that go beyond the ordinary.
All these products are initially available through the eshop, bringing the flavors of Aegina to homes throughout Greece and abroad. With a passion for quality and the local element, Androniki and Michalis seek to share with the world the unique flavors of their island.
Their vision is to make Aegina's pistachios known and loved throughout the world, bringing the wealth of the island to the table of as many people as possible. Androniki and Michalis dream of showing the taste, tradition and love they have for their place to every corner of Greece and beyond that.
